Brian is the CEO and co-founder of Lumoniq. He is a serial innovator and holds over 40 patents in various emerging computing technologies, from semiconductors to photonics. Prior to Lumoniq, he worked at Arm for ~13 years, rising to Senior Principal Engineer, where he led a computer-technology pathfinding team that explored technologies for improving computer performance and efficiency. While at Arm, he also served as an industrial liaison for several semiconductor technology consortia (e.g., Imec, nCORE, JUMP), including serving as a lead Science Advisory Board (SAB) member for the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC). Brian earned his MS and PhD from the University of Michigan, specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with an emphasis on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and Design-for-Manufactuability (DfM).

Education: University of Michigan (MS, PhD), University of Texas at Austin (BS)

Amr is the CTO and co-founder of Lumoniq. Prior to Lumoniq, he was a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He also worked at Agilent Technologies (UK) from '00-'04, where he developed lasers and monolithically integrated optoelectronic circuits. He earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Glasgow, specializing in photonic integration technologies. While a professor at Toronto, his research spanned photonic device physics, with an emphasis on plasmonic nanostructures and nonlinear and quantum photonics for information processing, sensing, and data communications. Amr is a Fellow of Optica and IEEE. A committed volunteer and leader within the IEEE Photonics Society, he recently served as an Elected Member of the Board of Governors and a Distinguished Lecturer, and he received the Society’s 2019 Distinguished Service Award.
